If you've got personality, love working with people, and thrive in fast paced environments, this is your opportunity to be part of something exciting. Reporting to the Event Operations Manager, you will lead the day-to-day delivery of conferences, exhibitions, corporate events, special functions, and large-scale hospitality experiences across our diverse event spaces.
This role is responsible for ensuring exceptional guest experiences while driving operational excellence, team performance, and commercial outcomes. You will work closely with clients from post-handover through to event execution, ensuring every detail is delivered seamlessly while supporting the ongoing success of one of Brisbane's premier event destinations.
This is a fantastic opportunity where you will showcase your leadership capability, organisational skills, commercial acumen, and passion for delivering memorable experiences.
A few of your responsibilities:
- Lead, coach and develop Event Services team members, including recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and succession planning.
- Professionally manage and oversee conferences, exhibitions, corporate events, and special functions for both internal and external clients.
- Act as the primary operational contact for clients following handover from the Event Planning team, ensuring all event requirements are delivered successfully.
- Coordinate and maintain event information within ASEM and Event Draw, ensuring event details, operational requirements, and revenue data are accurate.
- Support the management of event logistics, including co-managing the Mobile Dock booking system and venue access requirements.
- Drive exceptional guest service standards while ensuring all events are delivered safely, efficiently, and within budget.
- Assist the Event Operations Manager in achieving departmental financial and operational objectives.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure a seamless event experience from planning through to execution.
What are we looking for:
- Proven leadership experience within events, conferencing, hospitality, hotels, or large-scale venue operations.
- Demonstrated experience leading teams in high volume operational environments.
- Strong client relationship management skills with the ability to build trust and deliver exceptional service.
- Experience coordinating multiple events simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience managing operational costs and delivering profitable outcomes.
- Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Experience using event management systems such as ASEM, Event Draw, or similar platforms is highly desirable.
- Flexible availability to meet the demands of a seven-day operation, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
About you:
You are a hands on leader who thrives in a dynamic events environment. You enjoy working with people, building relationships, and creating memorable guest experiences. Organised and proactive, you remain calm under pressure and have the ability to coordinate multiple moving parts while keeping your team engaged and focused on success.
What can we offer you:
- Complimentary meal on site every day including hot meals, sandwich bar and more.
- Uniform laundered and ready for you daily on property.
- Discounted parking and other transport options.
- Up to 30% discounts across award winning restaurants and accommodation.
