Payroll Team Leader

As our Payroll Team Leader reporting to the Group Manager Payroll Operations, you will be responsible for providing direction to the payroll team and manage payroll activities to ensure accurate and timely completion of payroll processes and compliance with enterprise agreements, policies of management remuneration and statutory requirements.

This is a fantastic opportunity where you will Lead the Payroll team to ensure high levels of team engagement providing learning, developing and stretch opportunities.

 

A few of your responsibilities:

  • Provide people leadership through coaching, mentoring, on the job training and performance development of the Payroll team members
  • Lead with Integrity, assessing and sharing workload, build knowledge confidence of the team
  • Provide Leaders with advice and direction for the accurate payroll input and superannuation requirements in accordance with the Enterprise Agreements, Modern Awards and statutory requirements
  • Ensure accurate completion of payroll processing, third party payments, payroll reporting, fortnightly and monthly reconciliation of deductions, superannuation contributions
  • Conduct regular internal audits as required, and assist with leading external regular audits with EY
  • Complete and lodge monthly Payroll Tax, assist the team with preparing regular Superannuation payments and other third party activities

What we are looking for:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or payroll work experience in a senior payroll position
  • Previous supervisory/management experience is advantageous
  • Understanding of laws as they relate to The Star, in particular, casino controls, acts and regulations, financial statutory requirements
  • Computer skills (SAP, SuccessFactors system, Spinifex, other major ERP/Word/Excel)
  • Considerable experience in a large payroll environment (1,000+ employees) in both Salaried and Award/EA environments
