Director of Safer Gambling | The Star Brisbane

As the Director of Safer Gambling, you will lead the development and delivery of The Star Brisbane’s Safer Gambling strategy, ensuring compliance with all regulatory obligations while supporting a safe and responsible guest experience. This role provides leadership to the Safer Gambling team, driving strong people management, risk assessment, and harm minimisation initiatives across the property. You will partner with senior stakeholders, regulators, and community groups to embed effective programmes, enhance guest wellbeing, and strengthen responsible gambling practices. As a subject matter expert, you will oversee governance, reporting, and continuous improvement to ensure the effectiveness and compliance of all Safer Gambling operations.

What We’re Looking For:

• Extensive experience in Safer Gambling or related environments, including 10+ years in a casino setting or equivalent leadership experience managing vulnerable consumers
• Proven track record in establishing and leading Safer Gambling functions within complex organisations
• Demonstrated experience leading and developing specialist teams focused on customer interaction and risk reduction
• Strong understanding of casino operations, gained through a variety of operational roles
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in a related discipline
• Working knowledge of Safer Gambling systems, internal controls, and regulatory requirements, with experience operating in a 24/7 environment
