As the Non-Gaming Senior Risk Analyst reporting to the Director of Risk and Compliance, this role plays a key part in supporting The Star Sydney’s Non-Gaming business operations as a first-line risk and compliance specialist. It is responsible for ensuring that operational risks are effectively identified, assessed, and managed, while also supporting the organisation in meeting its regulatory obligations.

The role focuses on implementing and operationalising risk management frameworks and compliance controls across the non-gaming business, ensuring these are effectively embedded into day-to-day operations.

A few of your responsibilities:

  • Partner with non-gaming business leaders to identify, assess, and manage risks in line with the Risk Management Framework, policies, ICMs, and SOPs
  • Lead major and above incident/breach deep-dive assessments in collaboration with the breach reporting team
  • Support the Director of Risk and Compliance with analysis and reporting on residual risks, trends, issues, incidents, and breaches to inform decision-making
  • Advise and support leaders in remediating processes and controls following audit and assurance findings
  • Assess and mitigate operational risks across non-gaming activities
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and present findings to senior management and key stakeholders
  • Lead initiatives to enhance risk awareness and improve control self-assessments within non-gaming teams
  • Support the implementation of non-gaming compliance requirements, ensuring alignment with state and federal regulation

What we are looking for: 

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in risk, compliance, audit, or licensed hospitality roles
  • Strong understanding of regulations governing non-gaming operations
  • Familiarity with SOPs and risk governance frameworks
  • Strong analytical capability to assess risks, test controls, and interpret complex requirements
  • Proficient in risk assessments, control testing, and compliance monitoring
