Gaming Risk Manager

As a Gaming Risk Manager reporting to the Director Risk & Compliance, you will play a critical role in supporting The Star Sydney’s gaming related business operations as a first-line risk and compliance specialist.

The role is responsible for implementing and operationalising, risk management frameworks and compliance controls within the gaming related business, ensuring they are effectively embedded in day-to-day operations.

This position offers a fantastic chance to put your skills and knowledge to the test while contributing to a thrilling new era for our Risk & Compliance team.

A few of your responsibilities:

  • Partner with gaming business leaders to identify and manage risks in line with frameworks, policies, ICMs, and SOPs
  • Lead major incident and breach deep-dive assessments in collaboration with the breach reporting team
  • Analyse and report on residual risk, trends, incidents, and breaches to inform risk-based decision-making
  • Support business leaders in remediating processes and controls following audit and assurance findings
  • Assess and mitigate operational risks, particularly those related to gaming activities

What we are looking for: 

  • 5+ years’ experience in risk, compliance, audit, or licensed gaming roles
  • Strong knowledge of the NSW Casino Control Act and relevant regulations
  • Familiar with ICMs, SOPs, and risk governance frameworks
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risks, test controls, and interpret complex regulations
  • Proficient in risk assessment, control testing, and compliance monitoring
  • Excellent communication skills, able to clearly convey complex risk and compliance matters

You are an experienced risk professional with a strong background in risk management, compliance, or audit, ideally within a licensed gaming environment.

A collaborative and proactive partner, you work closely with business leaders to strengthen processes and controls, particularly in response to audit and assurance findings.
