As Director Controls and Testing, reporting to the General Manager Property Risk and Compliance, you will be responsible for developing and executing The Star Sydney’s control and testing methodology and annual plan.
This role also supports and validates the effective implementation of the control framework through control testing activities, while providing ongoing insights and recommendations to enhance controls and processes.

A few of your responsibilities:
- Develop a leading control testing methodology for The Star Sydney
- Create and maintain an annual control testing plan aligned to stakeholder and regulatory expectations
- Lead The Star Sydney controls team to deliver the annual testing plan
- Oversee high-quality reporting of findings, improvement areas, and recommendations
- Report outcomes to senior management and governance committees
- Monitor and oversee remediation of identified control issues
What we are looking for:
- Proven leadership with the ability to build and lead high-performing risk and control teams
- Strong knowledge of casino operations, regulatory requirements, and gaming, AML/CTF, and Safer Gambling risks
- Ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements within a first-line risk and compliance environment
- Clear and effective communication of complex risk and control matters to senior and operational stakeholders
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills to drive a risk-aware culture and control improvements
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify control gaps and deliver practical solutions
- Experience in data-driven risk assessments and generating actionable insights
