We are seeking an experienced Safer Gambling Duty Manager to lead frontline safer gambling operations at The Star Brisbane. This is a critical leadership role responsible for driving safer gambling outcomes, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting team performance in real time.
In this role, you will provide hands-on operational leadership across a 24/7 environment, overseeing Guest Support Managers and Guest Support Officers to ensure consistent, high-quality interactions and adherence to safer gambling obligations.
You will play a key role in embedding The Star’s safer gambling strategy, ensuring all practices align with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and organisational standards, while maintaining a strong focus on guest wellbeing.
This is a full-time position operating across a rotating 24/7 roster
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage day-to-day safer gambling operations across the gaming floor
- Provide real-time guidance and decision-making support for complex guest interactions and interventions
- Ensure compliance with time-based play requirements, exclusion processes, and regulatory obligations (ICM P)
- Oversee the quality and consistency of guest interactions, welfare checks, and interventions
- Monitor and review team activity across systems such as Protecht, CID, TrackVia, and Neoface
- Ensure all records and reporting meet audit and regulatory standards
- Escalate and manage high-risk or sensitive cases appropriately
- Coach, develop, and support team members to maintain high performance and consistency
- Contribute to continuous improvement of safer gambling practices and processes

- Demonstrated leadership experience in a regulated, operational environment
- Strong understanding of safer gambling principles, gaming regulations, and compliance frameworks
- Proven ability to make sound, defensible decisions under pressure
- Confidence managing complex, sensitive, and sometimes confrontational situations
- High attention to detail with a strong focus on documentation and accountability
- Ability to lead, influence, and support teams in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment
