As the Assistant Sous Chef in our Star Café and Production kitchen, you will contribute to the efficient operations of one of our busiest venues, our team member dining room! The Assistant Sous Chef plays a critical hands-on role in food preparation, supervising team members, maintaining hygiene and safety standards, and developing operational capabilities within the team.

A few of your responsibilities

• Monitoring of daily operations, payroll and costs
• Ensure the quality and consistency of all food leaving the kitchen
• Participate in shift briefings to ensure a smooth shift
• Monitor stock rotation, portion control, and report on low stock or wastage
• Mentor, train, and support the development of the team

What are we looking for

• Proven culinary leadership experience in a high volume production kitchen
• Experience driving quality and consistency, with a passion for food and a keen desire for continuous learning
• Ability to ensure a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness within the kitchen
• Previous knowledge of food and labour cost controls, with basic computer skills
• A warm, naturally engaging personality that takes pride in delivering a memorable product
• Flexible availability, including weekends and public holidays
