As the Director of Security, reporting to the General Manager of Asset Protection, you will lead the Security Department to safeguard The Star Sydney’s integrity and assets while delivering professional, efficient, and high‑quality customer service aligned with our corporate values and business objectives.

A few of your responsibilities

• Develop the department’s business plan, including budgets, labour and resource requirements, and ensure operations remain within approved financial parameters
• Implement strategies to minimise theft, assaults, vandalism, disorderly behaviour, and other illegal or undesirable activity across The Star Sydney complex
• Lead initiatives to strengthen asset protection and enhance the prevention, detection, and response to criminal or unsafe activity, ensuring the safety of guests, team members, and company property
• Develop and execute plans to meet the Security department’s customer service targets
• Drive continuous improvement across operational processes and reporting
• Oversee effective planning and delivery of operational initiatives, ensuring strong stakeholder engagement and appropriate change management where required

What we will be looking for

• Current NSW Security Industry Licence and Senior First Aid Certificate
• Certificate IV in Risk Management
• Advanced skills in conflict resolution, decision‑making, and incident management
• Strong stakeholder management capability
• RSA and RCG accreditation
• Proven experience in workforce planning, performance management, and managing labour and operational costs
• Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships, lead change, and extensive security/management experience, ideally within the casino industry
