Join our team as our Head of People Partnerships at The Star Brisbane.    

The Star Brisbane is Australia’s newest entertainment hub at the heart of the new Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct. The first phase is now open, with more venues and experiences on the way. The Star Brisbane offers a variety of new dining, bars, and unique entertainment options. It also includes a five-star luxury hotel, The Star Grand, and a state-of-the-art Event Centre.   

As our Head of People Partnerships, you’ll report directly to the General Manager People Operations and will hold key relationships with Senior Leaders across the organisation to ensure the People Operations Team are leveraging and influencing the effective implementation of the People Plan. 

In this role you will provide strategic and operational advice, coaching and insights on people matters to contribute to the delivery of P&P solutions and services that deliver on business outcomes, build capability, improve performance and support a safe positive workplace culture to drive engagement.  

A few of your responsibilities: 

  • Provide expert advice and consulting to group and property leaders and coordinate / liaise with relevant People Operations streams to provide whole of business people solutions. 

  • Develop and maintain key relationships with Union bodies understanding the importance of relationships to the delivery of critical people strategies for the business. 

  • Ensure Licencing and Probity is effective and compliant. 

  • Prioritise and partner in building commercial and financially sound recommendations, across all aspects of People Operations Teams that address both the immediate and the long-term needs 

  • Coach, develop and empower leaders to perform as leaders. In addition to educating leaders particularly on People operating model. 

  • Lead, develop and coach the People Partners to deliver optimum services to their partnered business leaders 

  • Provide People insights to both the business and the other People Operations Teams to enable/support strategic goals to be delivered in alignment with the business plans 

  • Maintain effective communication within People Operations Teams to share information, keep across relevant issues / developments across the business and ensure alignment in the delivery of P&P services. Share insights to enable continuous improvement in the P&P model and services. 

What we are looking for: 

  • Extensive experience in a senior human resources or people operations role, ideally within a large, complex organisation 

  • Tertiary qualification in organisational development, psychology, human resources, or a related field 

  • Extensive experience working collaboratively with Executive Committee members, General Managers, and Senior Leaders, providing strategic counsel and guidance on people-related matters 

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including labor unions, fostering trust and effective partnerships 

  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences 

  • Excellent leadership and coaching abilities, with a focus on developing and empowering teams and leaders 

  • Commitment to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and engaging workplace culture that attracts and retains top talent 

  • Proficiency in using HR information systems and technology to streamline processes and drive operational efficiency 

About you: 

You will be the face of the People Operations Team and will naturally coach leaders to provide a consistent team member experience for core people initiatives and advise the best approach to accessing services within the People Operations Team.
