As the Security Training Manager, you will manage Security related training for the business whilst ensuring all relevant statutory, regulatory and industry standards are met, and all Security team members are trained to a high level of competency. 

This is a fantastic opportunity where you will showcase your Security knowledge and expertise throughout our property at The Star Gold Coast. 

A few of your responsibilities: 

  • Oversee and coordinate all Security emergency and medical training needs, including training days, recruitment, site inductions, and additional company-specific training aligned with The Star’s Security teams training objectives 
  • Administer and facilitate counterterrorism training across all business sectors 
  • Organise and implement 'emergency response' training, primarily for Asset Protection, while also extending training to other facets of the business. 
  • Develop an annual Training Calendar outlining the training requirements and effectively communicate the program to Security Management 
  • Manage the onboarding process for new Security recruits, ensuring successful completion of their probation period, including conducting probation reviews 

What are we looking for: 

  • Current QLD Security Industry Licence (or ability to obtain one through mutual recognition) 
  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate 
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) and Responsible Gambling (RSG) Accreditation 
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment 
  • Understanding of laws as they relate to the organisation, in particular, Casino Control Act and Regulation, Qld Liquor Act, Security providers Act and Crimes Act.
