Join our team as a Surveillance Trainee Operator at The Star Brisbane.
The Star Brisbane is Australia’s newest entertainment hub at the heart of the new Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct. The first phase is now open, with more venues and experiences on the way. The Star Brisbane offers a variety of new dining, bars, and unique entertainment options. It also includes a five-star luxury hotel, The Star Grand, and a state-of-the-art Event Centre.
This transformational project has brought even more excitement and anticipation to burgeoning Brisbane. It will redefine how people play, shop, and socialise in the river city.
Reporting directly to the Surveillance Shift Manager, the Surveillance Trainee Operator will be recording, investigating and reporting threats to casino revenue, safety of persons and the integrity of gaming operations at The Star Brisbane. Comprehensive training will be provided to ensure your success in the role – no prior surveillance experience required.
A few of your responsibilities
- Monitor and report on all critical incidents across The Star Brisbane
- Monitor alarm systems and co-ordinate an appropriate response via communications systems to relevant operational departments and emergency services
- Maintain a constant vigilance to identify record and report activity affecting casino revenue, illegal or undesirable activity and gaming integrity
- Investigate and report on activities that potentially pose a threat to the integrity of the operations and casino statutory obligations
- Review CCTV footage to resolve all gaming inquiries and disputes from internal and external customers
- Video record and document potential misconduct claims against staff and patrons
What we are looking for
- The ability to work weekends and nights on a 24/7 rotating roster
- The ability to reliably work in a small, very dynamic, team changing environment
- The capacity to prioritise daily workload to ensure the efficient and effective performance of their position
- A growth mindset with a genuine enthusiasm for continuous learning and professional development
- Current Responsible Service of Alcohol accreditation & Responsible Service of Gambling accreditation
About you
This position will be responsible for ensuring the protection of company assets, as well as the safety of team members and patrons. This will involve the detection of cheating, theft, embezzlement and other illegal or undesirable activities within The Star complex. You will receive full, hands-on training to build the skills and confidence needed to thrive in this role.
