As our Senior Manager Anti-Money Laundering Quality Control, reporting to the Head of Financial Crime Planning & Enablement, you will Develop, implement, and maintain quality control framework and assessments to ensure products, services and performance align with The Star’s AML/CTF Program, governance policies and compliance obligations.

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead critical compliance initiatives, enhance risk management frameworks and drive operational excellence in detecting and preventing financial crime.

 

A few of your responsibilities:

  • Oversee and provide quality assurance reports on AML/CTF risk management controls to determine if functionality supports effective business operations (fit-for-purpose) to achieve The Star’s AML/CTF compliance obligations. Develop reports on findings and recommendations for escalation to the AML General Manager and Compliance Officer.
  • Maintains Star’s AML standards and procedures and recommends changes and/or alternatives for process improvements.
  • Coordinate reviews of all cases completed by the AML operations and due diligence team to ensure that proper decisions/recommendations have been made according to department standards, that the appropriate supporting documentation is obtained, and that any decision made by an AML/OFAC analyst is appropriately supported and documented in by Star’s AML established standards.
  • Undertake periodic assessments of AML/CTF business outputs to determine if outcomes meet governance and standards required to fulfill The Star’s AML/CTF compliance obligations. Determine what enhancements to controls may be necessary to improve outputs. Develop reports on findings and recommendations for escalation to the AML General Manager and AML/CTF Compliance Officer.
  • Communicate any errors/discrepancies found to the appropriate management and AML leadership team and ensure corrective action is taken.

 

What we are looking for: 

  • At least 5 years experience in an assurance or AML risk control management role in a casino/gaming environment, bank, corporation or government agency.
  • Experience in risk control management and assurance, project and change management and business analytics.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, and the ability to work independently and within a team.
  • A track record of timely project delivery, overcoming hurdles and complex issues.
  • Comprehensive understanding of relevant statutory compliance and reporting requirements.

With Expertise in quality control, risk assessment and regulatory requirements, you excel at driving process improvements and ensuring adherence to industry standards. Your analytical mindset, problem-solving skills and ability to mentor teams make you a key asset in mitigating financial crime risks.
