As our Senior Payroll Officer, reporting to the Group Manager Payroll Operations, you will be responsible for managing and reviewing payroll activities to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency within the payroll team. You will act as the first point of contact for resolving complex payroll queries, provide training and mentorship to Payroll Officers, and lead continuous improvements in payroll processes.
This is a fantastic opportunity where you will contribute to the payroll team's success by ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing, supporting internal stakeholders, and improving payroll-related practices.
A few of your responsibilities:
- Act as a first point of contact for resolving complex and escalated payroll queries for external customers.
- Review completed payrolls for accuracy and act as the first payment authoriser at NAB for payrolls and other relevant payroll-related third-party payments.
- Provide on-the-job training and mentoring for Payroll Officers and act as a first point of escalation for queries by Payroll Team Members.
- Participate in and actively contribute to internal workshops and payroll projects.
- Complete the production of fortnightly and weekly payrolls accurately and on a timely basis in accordance with legislative requirements and company policies.
What we are looking for:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or work experience in payroll or HR.
- Considerable experience in a large payroll environment (1000+ employees) in both salaried and award environments.
- Previous payroll supervisory or management experience is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of relevant payroll-related legislation and statutory requirements.
- Advanced computer skills, including experience with SuccessFactors/SAP/ERP/Word/Excel.
